There is a simple three-tier membership system in SPPEEx.

The Student Koru membership:

Available to individuals interested in the organization who wish to receive information regarding activities of the SPPEEx, including the newsletter and other informational mailings. Koru members will be invited to selected events, can take part in discussions and can serve as a committee member but do not have voting rights. This membership is free and is reserved for students only.

The Full Tapa membership):

Available to individuals interested in the organization who wish to receive information regarding activities of the SPPEEx, including the newsletter and other informational mailings. Tapa Members have full voting rights and may attend all events, take part in the discussions and can serve on the Executive Board. This membership requires a nominal payment of NZ$50.

The SPPEEx Toa (15+ years in industry) membership: This level of membership is for recognition of long service that a SPPEEx member has contributed to the engineering profession.

Terms & Conditions of Membership are as follows:

• Membership is considered confirmed and active upon receipt of annual membership fee
• Membership with SPPEEx will automatically roll over into a new subscription year and a member shall remain a member unless written notice of resignation signed by the member is received and payment for any outstanding subscriptions or invoices due is made.
• No refunds can be made for resignations made part way through the subscription year.
• Members resigning after commencement of the next subscription year are liable for subscriptions for the first day of the new subscription until the date the written notfication of resignation is received.
• The subscription year commences 1st January and ending 31st December of each year
• Any member whose annual subscription has not been paid by 1st July shall be regarded as in arrears of subscription and the members rights of membership shall be suspended until the arrears have been paid.
