Crosspower had expanded rapidly up to 2005 and needed more space to house a growing number of projects. With a long established reputation in the community, Crosspower moved their primary premises 200 meters down the road to larger facilities. This period involved scaling back of some programs as they saw their eventual conclusion. This opening the way for other opportunities. Crosspower had grown to become heavily dependent on external funding to operate and began to look at other opportunities to meet its goals.
One key focus of Crosspower is about creating employment or empowering people to create employment for themselves. This saw the drive to establish incubator businesses that would provide opportunities for people to run a business and learn to understand how they operate, much like the gym that started it. From this drive came projects such as Kakapo Woodcraft, Longrider Fiberglass and Positive Iron Fitness Club. While not all projects were a profitable business, they provided working and training opportunities for youth.
During this time also saw the opening of a computer lab, a motorcycle mechanics area, and a screen printing room. Further support from the Ministry of Social Development resulted in the formation of the 274 project and the Pacific Employment Support Services Project. With several projects ongoing and well of 20 years of involvement in Otara, Crosspower has firmly rooted itself in the community and is here to stay.
